YouTube's 'Intelligence Desk' to Curb the Spread of Controversial Content

Following a string of rather questionable videos going viral on the platform, YouTube has been on the offensive to stop the spread of controversial content. From the Logan Paul video which showed a dead body in Nihon'south 'Suicide Forest' to the more than recent Tide Pod challenge videos, YouTube's moderators have had a lot on their plate since the beginning of the year.

At present, according to a recent article from Buzzfeed News, YouTube is planning to gear up upward an 'Intelligence Desk' which will observe controversial videos on the platform earlier they get viral. The new initiative is function of the visitor's push button to improve its content moderation system, which hasn't been performing well of tardily. The Intelligence Desk will gather data from Google, user reports, social media trends and third-party consultants to flag controversial content before it spirals out of hand.

The platform has been nether fire for several things, including allowing mainstream ads to appear adjacent to extremist content and declining to recognize the agonizing corruption of children in certain videos. YouTube was also criticized for the fashion in which it handled the Paul state of affairs, as the offending video reached the top ten trending list earlier it was removed.
